Important win away

Ham-Kam won, but made it more thrilling than necessary when they let two goals in in three minutes in the second half. Fortunately Tommy Oren swept away all doubt with his 5-3 goal towards the end.

Ham-Kam (4-4-2):

Six points in the two first away matches is as expected considering the opponents, Kongsvinger and Tromsdalen, but Ham-Kam have struggled more than expected in both matches. The struggle the green and whites faced towards the end might have come as a result of underestimating Tromsdalens abillity to be consistant throughout the match, or from lowering their shoulders too early.

The contrast from last year's match at Lerkendal, Rosenborg's home arena, and Tromsdalen is bigger than any Ham-Kam heart want to admit. The less than twenty supporters making the trip from Hamar felt that this was more a match from the early stages in the cup, than actually a team in the same division. However, this is the reality, and Ham-Kam and their supporters have to face it.

Before 15 minutes had passed, Markus Ringberg had taken Ham-Kam to a comfortable 2-0 lead. The Ham-Kam dominance continued in the second half, and Olawasegun Abioudun had seemingly killed the match when he scored Ham-Kam's third goal. Abiodun, in his first match of the year as part of the starting leven performed well, and proved that he should be considered as more than a supersub.

After about a third of the second half, Arne Erlandsen thought Olawasegun to have done his share, and replaced him with Espen Olsen. At the same time, Steinar Stromsnes, on loan from Valerenga, took David Mannix' place. Unfortunately this was not an ideal period to enter the artificial grass, as Ham-Kam was losing the pressure they had made on Tromsdalen.

Tromsdalen sooned scored their first goal, and kept pressuring Ham-Kam. It was partly against the development of the match, when Juha Pasoja headed in 4-1, fifteen mins before the end. After this, Ham-Kam seemed to fall asleep, and Tromsdalen scored two goals in three minutes, when the Ham-Kam defence seemed to be talking to Mr. Sandmand.

The next ten minutes were thrilling, and the home supporters felt the scent of a draw and one point. However, five minutes before the end, Tommy Oren disappointed the Northernes and calmed down the visitors from the south east with his 5-3 goal.

Briskebybanden.com welcomes the team-work of the two strikers Ringberg and Abiodun. Rookie Truls Hagen once again played a very good match, as did his collegue on the opposite back.

After only four rounds, the three favourites, Bodo/Glimt, Molde and Ham-Kam are leading the race for promotion.

Sunday, Haugesund will visit Hamar in a bid to close the gap to the leading three.
