MATCH REPORT: START vs HAM-KAM 2-0

Start opened and ended the match against Ham-Kam best last Sunday night- enough to win.

Day 20, Tippeligaen, Sundag 17th September 2006 - Kristiansand

Start - Hamarkameratene 2-0 (1-0)

1-0 David Nielsen (1)
2-0 David Nielsen (90)

Booked: Ivar Rønningen and Jan Michaelsen (Ham-Kam)

Start (4-3-3): Rune Nilsen - Morten Pedersen, Bård Borgersen, Atle Roar Håland, Lars Martin Engedal - Kristoffer Paulsen, Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim (Sebastian Schindzielorz from 86.) , Kristofer Hæstad (Fredrik Strømstad from 57.) - Alex Valencia, David Nielsen, Stefan Bärlin (Todi Jönsson from 65.).

HamKam (4-4-2):
Ivar Rønningen - Steve Cooreman, Juha Pasoja, Knut Henry Haraldsen, Ramiro Corrales - Rune Buer Johansen, Morten Bertolt (Tommy Øren from 86.), Jan Michaelsen, Marius Gullerud (Roman Kienast from 74.) - Markus Ringberg, Espen Olsen (Oluwasegun Abiodun from 53.).

After one minute, Start's Kristofer Paulsen took advantage of a break-through. He out-ran Rune Buer Johansen and put up striker David Nielsen who placed the ball past goalie Ivar Rønningen, making it 1-0 before the match had even got started. According to statistics, Ham-Kam have great difficulties in recovering after being one goal down. Last Sunday was to be no exception.

Ham-Kam played rather well most of the match, and was doubtless at Start's level, yet they couldn't score. Start stopped Markus Ringberg effectively, thus neutralizing Ham-Kam's attacking duo Ringberg/ Olsen.

Morten Bertolt and Jan Michaelsen seem to have found each other in the central midfield, and will most probably be a great activum for Kamma throughout this autumn. The defence did a good match as well, with Steve Cooreman playing one of his best matches so far. Ramiro Corrales was once again one of Ham-Kam's best.

Nevertheless, in spite of playing well, Kamma conceded two almost identical goals from David Nielsen, both on break-downs, Start's most dangerous weapon.

The struggle for survival continues for the green and white's. First battle is at home, at Briskeby, Sunday 24th September, 6 p.m. Lyn Oslo will then take the trip from Oslo.
