Outstanding Rønningen saves Ham-Kam
Goalkeeper Ivar Rønningen played the match of his carreer and secured three points for Ham-Kam away at Gjemselund Sunday afternoon.
Overskrift: Kongsvinger had seven enormous chances to score and beat big brother Ham-Kam in the derby at Gjemselund, but an extraordinary good Ivar Rønningen was impossible to lure, and thus the main reason to why Ham-Kam have a full pot after the two first matches in Adeccoligaen. Truls Jevne Hagen’s goal fifteen minutes before full time was enough to bring three points back to the capitol of the interior of Norway. Day 2: Adeccoligaen, 15 April 2007. Gjemselund, Kongsvinger. Kongsvinger v Hamarkameratene 0-1 (0-0) 0-1: Truls Jevne Hagen (74) Referee: Morten Høgberg, Manglerud Star. Attendance: 2745. Booked: Truls Jevne Hagen, Thomas Øverby and Frode Bjørnevik, Ham-Kam. Krzyszof Smolinski and John Pelu, Kongsvinger. Ham-Kam (4-4-2) Ivar Rønningen- Truls Jevne Hagen, Frode Bjørnevik, Juha Pasoja, John Anders Rise (Thomas Øverby, 30.)- Marius Gullerud, David Mannix, Jan Michaelsen, Tommy Øren- Markus Ringberg, Espen Olsen (Olawasegun Abiodun, 46.) (Knut Henry Haraldsen, 90.) If one is to use terms as gigantic, historic or world class about a performance in Norwegian football, it would have to be after this match. Goalie Rønningen was remarkably good. The first indication of his being in no mood to concede a goal, appeared after 20 minutes, when Rønningen twice stopped Kongsvinger attempts. This set the standard for the match, and after a while the Kongsvinger players’ respect for Rønninger had grown so strong that they even placed a penalty kick wide, in fear of letting Rønningen humiliating them once again. Kongsvinger caught a partly underachieving Ham-Kam totally by surprise in the beginning of the match. Ham-Kam was pushed back, unable to perform attacking football. Not untill ten minutes before the break did Ham-Kam get a goal chance, when Davis Mannix was let alone in Kongsvinger’s box. However, his shot was not good enough. Just before the end of the first half, Juha Pasoja delievered a good free-kick, but unfortunately, Kongsvinger keeper Conny Månsson saved. Head coach Arne Erlandsen understood that Ham-Kam had to do something with their attacking game, after only having achieved two qualified attempts to score. From the beginning of second half he sent in Abiodun to replace Olsen. Abiodun’s speed and physical strenght caused difficulties for the Kongsvinger defence. This helped, but Kongsvinger were still the best. Nevertheless, Ivar Rønningen stopped them from taking the lead. Then, somewhat undeservedly Ham-Kam scored around 15 minutes before the final whistle. Abioudun made his way ahead on the wing, and put up Markus Ringberg in front of Kongsvinger’s goal. Ringberg’s header reached Hagen via a Kongsvinger player. Hagen hammered the ball into Kongsvinger’s goal from 8-9 metres. This was his first goal for the club. As Ivar Rønningen held his sheets clean, three new points was brought back to Hamar. With the three points at Gjemselund, Ham-Kam defend their lead in Adeccoligaen with Molde as number two. These teams are identical with the two teams most experts believe will be promoted to Tippeligaen, Norway’s Premier League. Next match will be at home against Bodø-Glimt, who humiliated Mandalskameratene with an 8-1 win on Sunday.
